Apnea42 Freediving Club Trainings for freedivers.
Getting Started
Pool Trainings are for pool-certified freedivers or minimum ongoing pool freediving course students. ✅ Be Responsible for your own equipment & weights. If you need to rent equipment, do inform mark early so that the trainer has sufficient time to prepare, pack and bring them to the session.
✅ Training fees are kept to a minimum to cover pool and trainer cost.
✅ Instructors and trainers providing coaching is a huge voluntary role, if you benefited from pool training, and like to give back as a trainer do let Mark know.
✅ Please Read #1 #2 #3 before steeping into your first training session
1. What to Bring / Equipment Needed
Be responsible for your own equipment, especially your own weighting
- Freediving without weight means you will be floating on the surface, unable to stay underwater. please sort your weighting early.
- It is alot of weights for trainer to carry to pool if every session many are renting. Weight rental is $25 (you can purchase a pouch neckweight for $55)
- Discuss with your instructor/trainer to sort your weighting buoyancy check, you can place an order for neck weight here first to avoid rental charges: Products – tagged "Weighting" – Apnea42 Freediving (amendments to weight can be sorted later)
- Training progress is often hindered when you have to constantly adjust to different rental equipment (e.g., ill-fitting fins). Having your own equipment also facilitates proper weighting. Being properly weighted prevents bad finning habits due to poor buoyancy control and body alignment.
Compulsory Pool Equipment
1. Mask and snorkel (for buddy safety)
2. Fins
3. Neckweights or Belt Weights
4. Watch (To time, yourself, laps, progression, buddy statics)
Optional / Performance Equipment
- Wetsuit (Hydrodynamics, Staying Warm)
- Noseclip (Statics)
- Waterbottle (Stay hydrated)
